Little One Inch at the Center for Puppetry Arts
|
|
Meet one of Japan's most beloved heroes: Little One Inch, a tiny boy no bigger than an inch and determined to win his fortune.
The show is based on a traditional Japanese folktale.
With a rice bowl for a boat and a chopstick for an oar, Little One Inch sets off to save Japan and battle the horrible ogre.
During his adventure, he befriends a kappa, rides a koi, and becomes the playmate of a princess before defeating the ogre in a surprisingly hilarious battle.
Performed with Bunraku style puppets, this story will prove to audiences of all ages that even the smallest of heroes can overcome the biggest of challenges.

The Asian American Resource Center (AARC) is re-launching the Hearts for One project. Established in 2008, Hearts for One provides emergency financial assistance to people in times of crisis. The project is specifically designed to serve people who have lost their jobs, or who have become incapacitated by sickness – people facing crisis during already difficult economic times.
In 2009, AARC will focus its services to members of the immigrant community who have serious health issues. Many in the immigrant community lack healthcare coverage, and with the escalating costs of medical care, a family or individual faces certain economic catastrophe when faced with a serious health problem. With funds raised from the Hearts for One 2009 initiative, AARC will help qualified individuals who face economic hardship because of health problems.
